About Us
In an effort to establish a structured body that would strengthen and support Cyprus’s development trajectory, the Association of Large Investment Projects was founded in 2013.
Its objective is to promote issues related to the economic, business, social and environmental development of the country.
The Association is a member of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and represents companies that invest in and develop some of the most significant projects in Cyprus.
Membership is open to legal entities and individuals involved in the development of projects with a value exceeding €50 million.
The Association’s 16 members come from across the entire spectrum of the Cypriot economy, representing projects with a total value exceeding €8 billion.
Its portfolio includes high-standard, large-scale developments such as golf courses, casinos, major mixed-use and integrated residential developments, universities, medical centres, rehabilitation centres, technology parks, research centres and large tourist resorts.
The Association of Large Investment Projects is a non-profit, voluntary organisation, headquartered at the offices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Nicosia
Vision
The vision of the Association of Large Investment Projects is to contribute to establishing Cyprus as a regional business hub and a leading destination for large-scale investments.
At the same time, it aims to position the country as a hub for high-quality healthcare services, a centre of excellence in tertiary education, technology and information systems, as well as in other strategic sectors such as tourism, shipping, green energy and infrastructure.
Mission
The mission of the Association of Large Investment Projects (ALIP) is to:
Promote and support the implementation of integrated and complex developments and investments, contributing to Cyprus’s dynamic growth trajectory.
Foster a business-friendly environment by addressing challenges that may discourage or deter investors.
Encourage the development of licensed and sustainable projects of high added value and profitability, aimed at attracting the interest and confidence of international investors.
Maintain close cooperation with government authorities and relevant stakeholders to modernise public administration, reduce bureaucracy, promote the green transition and ensure fast and transparent procedures.
Promote Cyprus as an attractive investment destination, in collaboration with foreign embassies in Cyprus and the embassies of the Republic of Cyprus abroad.
Activities
Through a responsible and consistent approach, the Association of Large Investment Projects has played a pivotal role in promoting and implementing integrated and complex developments, extending their scope beyond urban centres and into rural areas.
At the same time, it has contributed significantly to the expansion of Strategic Land Uses, as well as to the introduction of urban planning incentives that enhance investment attractiveness.
The Association has also played an active role in public dialogue, supporting the establishment of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and initiatives that upgrade the country’s tourism sector.
Its international presence is equally important, through participation in business forums and missions abroad, where Cyprus’s incentives and competitive advantages are systematically promoted, positioning the country as an attractive and secure investment destination.
